Bliss in a Hemp Seed Ball
When we think of hemp we think of getting high but is hemp the same as marijuana? In a nutshell, no, they are simply both part of the cannabis family. Using delicious hemp seeds in these delicious hemp seed bliss ball recipes you will get high on the delicious taste and natural health benefits of this special seed.
The Chinese knew that hemp seeds were healthy and used them as medicine for thousands of years particularly for mental illness related issues. Hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats and essential fatty acids and are a great source of protein, vitamin E, potassium, sodium and magnesium. A true superfood worthy of the name.
Hemp seeds are good for your hearth as they are a great source of arginine (a basic amino acid and essential nutrient in our diet) and gamma-linolenic acid (a fatty substance found in various plant seed oils). With a ratio of 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats which may help with skin diseases providing relief from uncomfortable symptoms.
Hemp seeds are complete source of protein as it makes up 25% of the calories and contain all the essential amino acids.

Try these two blissful Hemp Seed Bliss Ball recipes for a happy, healthy high.
Choco Happy High
1 cup of pitted dates – soaked
1 ½ cups walnuts – soaked
2 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp hemp seeds
2 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp cinnamon
½ tsp sea salt
2 tbsp water (or nut milk)
Matcha powder (optional)
Place all ingredients in a bowl.
Put the blank screen / mincing screen onto the Axis Wide Mouth, Oscar 1000 or Oscar 1200.
Feed the mixture into the hopper making sure there is a good mix of ingredients. Occasionally add a little water or nut milk.
Roll the mixture into bit sized balls. Roll in Matcha Powder for an extra boost. Refrigerate.
Nutty Bliss
2 tsp hemp seeds
2 tbsp flax seed
1 tsp chia seeds
5 tbsp almonds
2 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp maple syrup (or alternative)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Extra ground almond or coconut for rolling (optional)
Place all ingredients in a bowl.
Put the blank screen / mincing screen onto the Oscar 1000 .
Feed the mixture into the hopper making sure there is a good mix of ingredients. Occasionally add a little water or nut milk.
Roll the mixture into bit sized balls. Roll in Matcha Powder for an extra boost. Refrigerate.
*Alternatively, place all ingredients in your BioChef Blender and blend to your desired consistency. Most of the blenders have a dedicated Smoothie mode. If you have a vacuum blender with a storage container, store the vacuumed mix for a longer shelf life.
