While ‘storage’ heaters have been around for a long time, the BioSari heater is a breakthrough in portable heating technology. Featuring Mongolian marble cut into slices and embedded with heating elements, this makes it the most efficient heating device on the market today in terms of radiant heat emitted...30% more far infrared rays than any other type of heating elements.
It's a 1500W element, so if turned to high it will use 1.5kWH of power in one hour. Check your ON and OFF peak rates but for eample, if the hourly rate was around $0.30c per hour, it would use a MAXIMUM of $0.45c per hour. With the thermostat set so you had the unit cycling ON/OFF for roughly half the time each (or 50% duty cycle), then running cost would be approximately $0.22 / 23c per hour.
Any 1500W heater running flat out will cost exactly the same to run. The benefit of the marble heater will be its heat retention characteristics. For example, a 1500W bar heater, to retain a set temperature, will be 'ON' constantly. However, the BioSari Marble Heater will heat to the set temperature, then shut off the element. The heat will slowly begin to dissipate to a certain, predetermined temperature, then switch on and remain on again until the 'set' temperature is regained. It will continue to cycle in this way.
